A Better Double Davey Knot - The Fly Spoke Knot

I always love discussions about knots and knot strengths, the same way I really enjoy cheesy sci-fi movies from the 1950s.
I worked at a booth at the huge Fred Hall fishing show in Long Beach CA for a few years (it paid for my tuna fishing habit) and every year there was a wildly popular multiday knot tying contest sponsored by a line manufacturer (Izorline, entry fees went to a charity).
Very long story short:
Every year, with literally hundreds of guys over a four day period tying their very best version of what they believed was the very strongest possible line to hook knot, the winner was always one of two…
The Trilene knot, and a San Diego Jam knot (the SDJ would be tied with a doubled line which made it stronger than single line but a bit bulky)
Every single year.
Mono or fluoro, doesn’t matter.
I personally am more concerned about becoming a better at hydrology and reading water than knots, but I’ll still read all these posts!
Just my take…

The Above vedio has been taken down by FlySpoke and is no longer available But, if you go to this address:

and scroll down to the Orvis knot, there is a knot tying diagram that shows how to tie the same knot - called the Orvis Knot there.

And here is how to tie the Orvis Tippet Knot version of the same Knot:
